Traditional karate is a Japanese martial art. It is a lifetime activity that improves all aspects of physical fitness, promotes cognitive development and emotional stability. Karate improves self-image and self-control. Karate also teaches the value of discipline and personal defense strategies.
Karate’s foundation is in self-defense not dueling or military engagement. Through training, students become more aware of the world around them. This awareness allows the karate practitioner to assess and avoid dangerous situations before physical confrontation takes place.
Classes are divided into two categories, Beginners and Regular. Both classes are open to all age groups. Parents that are interested are encouraged to train with their children in the Beginner session. Adults wishing to start classes without children can attend the Regular session.
